About The Opportunity
Our Americas team is currently seeking a Mining Engineer, Product Specialist based in Vancouver. You will play a key support role for customers of our mine design and planning solution, Micromine Beyond. In this role you will be responsible for delivering high quality pre-sales and support activity, including technical product demonstrations, tenders, proof of concept model builds, software evaluation, campaigns, promotions, conferences and events etc.
Reporting directly to the Technical Services Manager- Mining, your key responsibilities will include:
- Assist the sales team by providing technical support during pre-sales demonstrations, trade shows, and other promotional events as requested
- Developing and maintaining long-term customer relationships
- Create and present strategic technical demonstrations to customers with a solution and value focus
- Provide our clients with telephone, email and face to face support
- Provide training to current and new software users. Such training may take place at a client’s site, or at a third-party venue such as a university computer laboratory
- Liaise with the product development team and software users during the software design cycle. This may involve canvassing users to determine the functionality of a new component, and then writing a design brief for the product development team
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Micromine Beyond in the Americas
About You
You will have a background within operational mining roles.
Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:
- A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
- 4-6 years of generalist mine engineering experience
- 1-2 years of consulting experience in the mining industry
- 3-5 years of experience with mining software
- The ability to travel, nationally or internationally, to manage Micromine Beyond implementations
- English (professional fluency) and Spanish (professional fluency) language skills
