Milling Practice is the fourth in a series of special volumes published by the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM) since 1957. Like its predecessors, the book is composed of submissions from metallurgists describing technical aspects of Canadian or Canadian company-owned mineral processing operations. These aspects include deposit geology and ore mineralogy, processing flowsheets, equipment types and specifications, key performance indicators, tailings management and processing costs. Mineral processing operations are detailed for commodities such as precious metals, iron ores, base metals, diamonds and industrial minerals. The book also presents Canadian laboratories providing services and conducting research for the mineral processing industry, as well as Canadian universities offering programs in the field of mineral processing.
